Plan updates I

Hiya!

Yesterday evening we went out to a bar to check out the local nightlife. It seemed there was lot of westerners but also a lot of Chinese people. The bar was called Propaganda and a small bottle of beer cost there about 2 euros. So not going to buy any drinks from there anymore :). It was just one game of pool and that was it, although it was nice to see what happens in the late hours.

Earlier that day I applied for a double-entry visa, since I and Silja are going to go to Tokyo, Japan on the third of October. We'll spend a week there because there are no classes here during that time: it is the national week (1st of October it's going to be crazy in Beijing since it is the 60th anniversary of the People's Republic of China). The usual plane tickets (BTW this is the first time we are going to fly on this trip) cost maybe 600-800 euro back and forth, but I managed to find some cheap offer for 380 euros for a roundtrip. Which was nice. Accommodation there is about 18 euros / night in a hostel called Khaosan Tokyo Ninja. The original plan was to go also to South Korea, but as it would have almost tripled the traveling expenses, we decided not to pursue it this time.

Yesterday I and Ruslan went for some shopping in a Korean market area, where haggling was part of the deal. I grabbed some easy-going clothes with me while Ruslan bought a watch, a belt and a wallet. Not so expensive yeah, but still I think I overpaid - I'm a cheapskate. Now off to hunting a cheap bike for me..
